The Dare Devil

Jackson just loves his fire truck that his Uncle B and Aunt Nette gave him for Christmas. He has almost gotten the hang of pushing himself. He has also discovered something else that he can do. He holds the handle bars while balancing his feet on the seat. I don't think that he is afraid of anything!

Easter Sunday

Easter was very different this year--but in a great way! My mom, dad, Jackson and I left on Saturday to visit my brother Brian and his wife Lynnette for Easter and to also celebrate Brian's 35th Birthday. Larry had to work so he was not able to go with us. We got up on Easter morning and I cooked breakfast for everyone and then Jack got to see what the Easter Bunny had brought him. We then went to Brian and Lynnette's church (Ameila Baptist) and then celebrated Brian's birthday with some BBQ!! After lunch the children had an Easter Egg hunt and Jack joined in--he pointed at the eggs as he walked by, then he got the hang of it!! We had a great time!

Our Trip to Florida!

Just wanted to post some pictures of our trip to Florida! We had a blast and didn't want to come home! Thanks Patty and Ernie for a wonderful time--we will definitely come back! Jackson was such a wonderful child--just a few "little" tantrums! Gampa even taught him how to fish and he picked his first orange with Mamaw!

One Year Checkup

Just wanted to share a few pics of Jackson at the doctor's office on Monday. He had his 1 year checkup and is in excellent health!!! What a milestone! We also had Jackson's 1 year Birthday Party(PICS COMING SOON)!! Jackson weighed 18lbs and 9 oz and was 29.5 inches long. Dr. Cicero said that he will probably be tall and thin--watch out Lou!! We are no longer on baby food or formula--what a relief!!! The good Lord has truly blessed us with a beautiful and healthy child!

Looking for the snow!

I just wanted to share a picture with you all. I did not have to work yesterday because of the "snow day". Notice the word in quotations--because we didn't have much! This would be Jackson's 1st look at snow--even though we were not able to get out in it! I took this cute picture of Jackson and Winston looking out of the window at the snow falling. I call them Snow Buddies!

Keeping the Faith

It has been a few weeks since I last blogged--Sorry! I have just been compelled to write about something that has been in my daily thoughts. Many of you know about the tragedy that hit our community by storm. Four year old Jameer Woodley was struck and killed by a bus at the school that I teach at. This tragedy has impacted my life, not only the community. Jameer's family is dealing with a lot. Not only have they lost Jameer but also another son, T.J. How does a family get through something like this--not once, but twice? What do you say to someone to comfort them? I didn't know what to do or say. Here is something that came to mind:
Psalms 71: 20-21
"Though you have made me see troubles, many and bitter, you will restore my life again; from the depths of the earth you will again bring me up. You will increase my honor and comfort me once again."
When Larry and I lost Carter, I read this over and over. It made me realize that I could get through this. All of us go through tragedies at some point in our lives. We must have faith that our Lord will get us through. We are constantly being tested and we must keep the faith.
